Ok, now I have something which works to give you:

Sorry no diff/patch to show changes. Not worked out how to exclude
all the crap from getting into it. So here's a brief rundown:

(( & apologies for white space editing in src/gui/ making potential

++ externs.h
  for giving [ GtkWidget* menu_patch ] to patchlist.c

   ln:182 - 188 ++ two extra g_signal_connect for popup-menu

Something like that. Much much simpler than my previous effort which did
not even work. Further work to be done with display of patch ID# and
patch name in cut and cut by params.
