Hello Jorgos,
The small bar above the keyboard is used to set the origin and the
range. left click to set the lower range, right click for the upper and
middle click to change the origin.
To clarify, I am just the humble maintainer of specimen. I've done very
little actual development work since giving it a new home about 3 years
ago when the original author left us. Unfortunately, I've not managed to
give it the attention it needs due to a variety of personal time
constraints (travelling too much working on a/v streaming & recording at
international Free Software conferences, working out some serious health
issues and trying to figure out how to earn a living in a way that
leaves time for getting & staying healthy and sane)
I've had to back out of working on the Linux Audio Conference streamteam
this year and likely will not be doing any other conferences for at
least a year because the cost in terms of the impact on my health has
been too high. I really hope I can give specimen some attention this
year, but, I'm not really comfortable making any promises ... better to
just report what I've done when/if I do it.
There is a mailing list for specimen which I've added to the Cc:. You
should most likely sign up and direct any further questions there:

Take care and thanks for using specimen,
Eric Rz.
